Cumbria Health Limited – Senhouse Centre Wellbeing Project
Cumbria Health, previously known as Cumbria Health on Call (CHoC), provides primary health care services in and out of hours in Cumbria.
Following ‘taster’ sessions held at the Senhouse House Centre, Whitehaven, Cumbria Health Limited requested support to develop a 1 year pilot to provide healthcare services and wellbeing support at the centre, specifically for people who may face barriers attending more formal healthcare settings.
The community-based sessions are designed to be more accessible and lower pressure, over-coming the barriers to accessing health care in traditional settings. This early intervention, preventative approach enables identification of warning signs which can be signposted to treatment options that may otherwise have been delayed or missed.
The sessions have a Health Care Assistant and Administrative Assistant present along with either a GP, Mental Health Nurse or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
