The grant award provides continuation funding to cover staff salaries and running costs for Family Bereavement services for 3 years. Although HHWC operate throughout West Cumbria, this application is to support the delivery of a range of emotional wellbeing, bereavement services and complementary therapies for adults who live in the Copeland area. HHWC also provides support for their carers / families throughout their illness and bereavement support when a loved one passes away. Support will be delivered by HHWC’s professional and highly trained Family & Bereavement Services (FABS) Team, who help people through carefully developed individual plans, with regular reviews to ensure they continue to meet the needs of each person.

Service users may benefit from receiving several different types of support, helping to empower them and develop coping strategies. The team provide: 1-2-1 session’s which enable people to talk through worries, concerns, and anxieties; facilitate group sessions for individuals to talk with others in similar circumstances whilst giving and receiving support; and a range of complementary therapies to provide a soothing period away from challenging times, aid relaxation and cope with some of their symptoms.
