Always Another Way – Improving Mental Wellbeing in Copeland

Always Another Way provide inclusive, tailored support for mental well-being across West Cumbria. The Grant is to support staffing costs for three years to enable Always Another Way to continue to deliver low-level preventative mental health support for young people from 11 years through to adults in Copeland. Staff roles funded by the grant include Executive Officer, Organisational Manager, Admin, Counsellor, Coach and six Coping Support Workers.

Project Impacts

  • Work with at least 4 schools to provide 1:1 low-level mental health support.
  • Provide a minimum of 6 mental health courses per year.
  • Provide LGBTQ+ support groups.
  • Show a reduction in depression, stress and anxiety suffered by the client.
  • Improve mental health through self-help coping strategies.
  • Create a healthier community and reduce isolation.
  • Support vulnerable people.
  • Improve mental & emotional health as well as increased resilience.
  • Foster & encourage participation in lifelong learning.
  • Increase confidence, self-esteem and improve personal relationships.
  • Facilitate Partner organisations feedback evidencing they see positive changes in young people.
  • Increase in the numbers of young people and adults participating in activities that promote their wellbeing.
  • For those from the LGBTQ+ Community to feel supported & to have a safe space to be ‘themselves’ and access information relevant to their needs.
