Young Carers – One to One Support Project

This Project delivers one to one support to Young carers in Copeland. Support Workers work with young carers to create a bespoke programme, providing opportunities to develop strategies that improve and maintain health and well-being, improve family relationships, increase their self-esteem and confidence and give them opportunities to talk about issues relating to their caring role. It aims to improve school attendance and achieve a general improvement in their school work and realise their educational potential.

  • £5,250 Match Funding
  • 30 Young people – no. of individuals attending more than 10 sessions in a year

  • Young carers who access the project will have developed strategies to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing
  • Young carers who access the service achieve a general improvement in school work and school attendance
  • Young carers who access the service achieve an improvement in their self-esteem and confidence
  • Young carers who access the service receive increased support from their education environment
