Kells Amateur Rugby League Club were awarded a grant to erect a galvanised barrier system around the rugby field on Kells Welfare Pitch. This was to enable residents from Kells and the surrounding area the opportunity to participate and volunteer in sport and physical activity in a safe environment whilst also offering a safe environment for spectators watching the game.
The completion of the barrier allowed Kells ARLFC to meet the RFL criteria for playing in the national Conference League, it helped them attract more people to participate and watch various club activities
